Garden Tourism Festival 2012

Delhi Tourism has been organizing the Garden Tourism Festival for the Last 24 years. In 1998, the first festival was held in DDA Park at Greater Kailash and since then societies, nurseries, associations and individuals have come together under one umbrella towards making this successful show.

If you are a gardening enthusiast, this is time to be in the capital. The Annual 25th Garden Tourism Festival celebrating Silver JUblilee is presently on at the Garden of Five Senses, Saildul-Ajaib Village.

A beautiful thing is a joy forever and if it is an enchanting garden with colourful flowers with a backgrounds of healing and the colour of green in different hues, then it is a source of peace, tranquillity and happiness. Flowers are very respective and they are happy when they are loved but, if rightful nutritional plants are added to the beautiful garden, the the garden is reflective of a completeness befitting today's lifestyle. A healthy bouqet of fresh and leafy vegetables and salad crops balance the beauty of a garden. A garden of any design created with green, colourful flowers and a few vegetables for nutrition will fulfil the requirement of the theme of beauty and nutrition this year.

The Garden Festival's main attraction this year is the theme based garden "Beauty and Nutrition" "Garden Tourism Festival" has a specially designed theme Garden Beauty and nutrition this year. Colurs in Landscaping, Garden of Orient, Roses in Landscape, Green Delhi Welcomes you have been some of the themes of earlier years.

The festival this year, is organized by Delhi Tourism in association with Government of Delhi, Incredible India and HoHo Bus.

The festival is a great platform for garden lovers to meet, interact and showcase their fruit of labour. The major participants during thefestival are the Horticulture Departments of GNCTD and NCR. The 25th Garden Tourism Festival has competitions organized 31 odd categories such as potted plants, Hanging Baskets, Foliage Plants, Bonsai Plants of different specifications, Bougainvillea, Floral Animals, Tray Gardens, Annaul Cut Flowers in Earthen Vases, Vegetables, Flower Decoration, Flower Arrangements and Roses etc.

All the exhibits during GTF are evaluated by judge from the respective horticulture area. There is a separate section for sale of plants, horticulture equipments, pesticides, fertilizers and other general items etc. It would also be an added advantage for the visitors to the festival as they can buy gardening equipments and saplings unders one roof.
